I am a writer, teacher, and mother from Las Vegas, Nevada.
I write stories about ambition and persistence that often center the natural world. My writing has appeared in Desert Companion, Nevada's NPR regional magazine, and Las Vegas Writes Anthology. My debut novel, Rain Collector, took center stage in my writing life for the last few years, and I can't wait to get this book out into the wild.
I taught high school English for seven years in public schools, and loved introducing students to all kinds of amazing literature, while watching them find parts of themselves inside what they read. Then, I got my M.A. in English from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a focus in environmental rhetoric, and taught college English, and many grades in elementary school.
Much of my writing inspiration comes from these years teaching around the country. Through this, I have encountered countless unique individuals and thousands of stories.
